Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Aftab Fazal Qayum for the use of GradeLab. By downloading or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

1. Licence

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use GradeLab on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may use it for personal or commercial work. You may not copy, sell, rent, sub-licence, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

2. Your content is yours

Every video, photo, project and grade you make with GradeLab belongs to you. I claim no ownership of, and no licence to, anything you create. Because your work stays on your device, I have no access to it and cannot recover it if you lose it — keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

You are responsible for having the right to use the footage, images, fonts and LUTs you bring into the app.

3. Free and Pro

GradeLab is free to download and includes a substantial set of grading and editing tools with no watermark on exports. GradeLab Pro unlocks the remaining features. The split between the two is shown inside the app, and it can change in future versions; features already unlocked by a purchase you have made will not be taken away from you.

4. Purchases and subscriptions

GradeLab Pro is available as a one-time Lifetime purchase or as an auto-renewing subscription:

Current prices are shown inside the app, in your local currency, before you confirm anything. Prices differ between countries and may change over time; a price change never applies to a purchase you have already completed.

For the subscription plans:

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price for your plan.
• You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
• Any unused portion of a free period, where one is offered, is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

Lifetime Pro is a single payment for permanent access on the Apple Account that bought it. It is not a subscription and will never be billed again.

5. Launch pricing

Lifetime Pro may be offered at a reduced founding price during a launch period. When that period ends the price returns to its standard level. Anyone who purchased at the reduced price keeps full Pro access permanently and is never asked to pay the difference.

6. Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled entirely by Apple under its own policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. I cannot issue, approve or expedite refunds.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use GradeLab to create or process material that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that you do not have permission to use. Do not attempt to circumvent the paywall, tamper with purchase verification, or interfere with the app's normal operation.

8. Availability and changes

GradeLab is developed by one person and is updated regularly. Features may be added, changed or removed, and support for older iOS versions or devices may end over time. I do not guarantee that the app will always be available or that it will remain compatible with future hardware or operating systems.

9. Device capability

Some features — including HDR and Apple Log workflows, ProRes export, and high-resolution or high-frame-rate encoding — depend on the hardware in your particular device. Where a device cannot perform an operation, the app says so rather than producing a broken file. Purchasing Pro does not add capabilities your hardware does not have.

10. No warranty

GradeLab is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. I do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects, or that it will meet your particular requirements.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, footage, projects, profits, time or opportunity, arising out of your use of or inability to use GradeLab. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you actually paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country.

12. Apple

This agreement is between you and me, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for GradeLab or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, which applies wherever these terms are silent.

13. Termination

This licence continues until terminated. It ends automatically if you breach these terms, and you may end it at any time by deleting the app. Sections 2, 10, 11 and 14 survive termination.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.

15. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the app changes. The date at the top shows the current version, and continuing to use GradeLab after an update means you accept the revised terms.
