Terms of Service

Review before you share.

PrivacyCam assists your judgment; it does not replace it.

  • Automatic detection can miss details
  • You control every redaction and export
  • Keep rights and consent in mind
  • Pro is a one-time batch unlock
  • Original photos remain your responsibility
Effective date July 14, 2026

Important: automatic privacy detection is probabilistic. It may miss, misidentify, or incompletely cover sensitive information. You must inspect the entire final image before saving or sharing it.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PrivacyCam mobile application, share extension, camera, detection, editing, export, batch-processing, and purchase features (collectively, the “App”). By downloading, purchasing, accessing, or using PrivacyCam, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

On Apple platforms, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies unless a valid custom EULA is presented through the App Store. These Terms supplement mandatory platform terms; mandatory platform terms control if there is a conflict.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of accepting these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use PrivacyCam only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.

3. License

Subject to these Terms and the applicable app-store rules, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use PrivacyCam on devices you own or control for lawful personal or business purposes.

You may not sell, sublicense, rent, distribute, copy, modify, reverse engineer, bypass access controls, extract models, or create derivative works from PrivacyCam except where applicable law expressly allows it. You may not interfere with the App, purchases, security, or third-party services.

4. Lawful and responsible use

You are responsible for the photos you capture, import, edit, save, and share. You must have the rights, permissions, and consent required by applicable privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, employment, evidence, surveillance, and data-protection laws.

Do not use PrivacyCam to facilitate harassment, stalking, fraud, identity theft, unlawful surveillance, exploitation, abuse, obstruction of justice, falsification of evidence, or any other illegal or harmful activity.

5. Automatic detection limitations

PrivacyCam may attempt to detect faces, possible vehicle number plates, QR codes, barcodes, readable text, phone numbers, email addresses, links, payment card numbers, and CVV/CVC security codes. Detection quality depends on lighting, angle, focus, resolution, occlusion, language, font, device capability, model behavior, and image complexity.

PrivacyCam does not guarantee that it will find every sensitive detail, correctly classify every outlined area, accurately read every number, or prevent a covered code from being reconstructed or scanned. False positives and false negatives can occur. Always zoom in, review each outlined area, add manual redactions where needed, and inspect the final exported copy.

6. Blur, pixelation, and blackout

Visual effects have different privacy properties. Blur may leave shapes recognizable. Weak pixelation may preserve enough structure for a face, plate, text, barcode, or QR code to remain identifiable or scannable. Blackout can be safer for highly sensitive information when it fully covers the relevant area. You are responsible for selecting a suitable style, strength, and coverage.

PrivacyCam exports a rendered copy with selected effects applied to image pixels. It does not promise that every destination platform will preserve the file exactly, prevent screenshots, or prevent inference from surrounding context.

7. Metadata removal

PrivacyCam is designed to strip common embedded metadata from exported copies and may stop an export when removal cannot be verified. No metadata-removal process can guarantee that operating systems, cloud services, messaging apps, social networks, file systems, or recipients will not create or retain other technical information. Verify the final copy and destination before sharing.

8. Your content and local storage

You retain your rights in your photos and edits. You grant PrivacyCam only the device-local access necessary to perform the actions you request. We do not claim ownership of your content.

PrivacyCam is not a backup, vault, permanent archive, medical-record system, evidence-preservation system, or guaranteed secure-storage service. Working files and batch progress may be deleted when you start over, discard work, disable temporary retention, clear app data, uninstall the App, lose the device, or update system software. Keep your own lawful backups of anything important.

9. PrivacyCam Pro lifetime purchase

Single-photo privacy detection, editing, metadata removal, preview, save, and share features are available without purchasing Pro. PrivacyCam Pro is an optional one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks batch processing for up to 10 photos, including batch review, recovery, saving, and sharing.

The displayed price is provided by the app store and may vary by country, tax, currency, or storefront. Payment is charged by the applicable app store, not directly by us. Purchases are tied to the store account used to buy them. Use “Restore Purchases” with that account to recover access on a compatible device.

“Lifetime” means a one-time license for the supported life of PrivacyCam under the purchasing store account. It is not a subscription and does not renew. It does not guarantee that the App, every feature, or compatibility with every future device and operating-system version will remain available forever. Refund requests and payment disputes are handled under the applicable app store’s policies.

10. Availability and changes

We may improve, modify, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features to address security, legal, technical, vendor, platform, or product requirements. We may impose reasonable technical limits such as supported formats, image sizes, batch sizes, operating-system versions, and device capabilities.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Some features depend on Apple, Google, device manufacturers, app stores, operating systems, and third-party SDKs that we do not control.

11. Third-party services

PrivacyCam uses platform and software components supplied by third parties, including app-store purchase services and on-device machine-learning libraries. Your use of those services may also be governed by their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PrivacyCam is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, security, availability, and that the App will detect or remove every privacy risk.

PrivacyCam is a general privacy-assistance tool. It is not legal, compliance, cybersecurity, financial, medical, forensic, identity-protection, or professional advice.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of data, privacy, profits, business, reputation, or opportunity; unauthorized disclosure; failed detection; or decisions made based on the App.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability arising from PrivacyCam will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for PrivacyCam during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $10, unless applicable law requires a different amount. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PrivacyCam’s developer and suppliers from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use, your content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights.

15. Suspension and termination

These Terms apply until terminated. You may terminate them by stopping use and uninstalling PrivacyCam. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary for a serious Terms violation, fraud, abuse, legal requirement, security risk, or platform decision. Provisions intended to survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—will survive.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer law in your country requires otherwise. Subject to mandatory consumer rights, disputes will be submitted to courts with competent jurisdiction in Islamabad, Pakistan.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms as PrivacyCam or applicable requirements change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the App.
