This Privacy Policy applies to the MenuBar Pets macOS application distributed through the Apple Mac App Store.
MenuBar Pets is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not operate servers, we do not create user accounts, and we do not transmit your data anywhere.

MenuBar Pets allows you to upload your own photos or artwork to create custom hanging characters. Here is exactly what happens to those images:
💡 Note: Background removal is performed locally using Apple's on-device machine learning via the Vision framework. No image data leaves your Mac at any point during this process.
MenuBar Pets requests the following macOS permissions to function correctly. Each is used only for its stated purpose:

MenuBar Pets does not request microphone, camera, contacts, calendar, location, or any other sensitive permissions.
MenuBar Pets does not integrate with or send data to any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or cloud storage services.
The app is distributed through the Apple Mac App Store. Apple may collect information about your download and purchase as part of their standard App Store operations, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
MenuBar Pets itself collects no data independently of Apple's standard App Store processes.
MenuBar Pets does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). Since MenuBar Pets collects no personal information from any user, it is inherently compliant with children's privacy regulations including COPPA.
MenuBar Pets is intended for general audiences and is safe for all ages.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you are in complete control of its lifecycle:
~/Library/Application Support/Bloop/CustomCharacters/. Deleted individually within the app, or entirely upon uninstallation.We have no data stored on our end, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights under laws such as GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), or similar legislation. Since MenuBar Pets does not collect, process, or store any personal data on external servers, most of these rights — including the right to access, correct, or delete your data — are exercised directly through the app itself or by uninstalling it.
